See the Lostpedia theory policy for more details.

  • Zach and Emma's parents are still alive and on the island, but they are denying the kids are theirs.
  • Zach and Emma's characters haven't been developed further because of the age problem that also exists with Malcolm David Kelley, the actor that portrays Walt. Conceivably, if the Island has moved forward in time, it could possibly be used to explain the characters coming back as older children.
  • Zach and Emma will be seen in 2008 on the Island so it will match up with the actors' current age.
  • Zach and Emma are skipping through time along with the rest of the survivors, and the child with the bandaged teddy bear seen in "...And Found" was actually Zach traveling back from the future.
  • Zach and Emma are currently in The Temple with Cindy. In Season 6, it will be revealed that while everyone else on the island has been time-jumping, The Temple has been immune from the temporal shifts due to being the island's "eye of the storm." Therefore, the next time we see Zach and Emma their ages will match the young actors', as time continued to move forward for everyone inside of The Temple throughout all of the time-shifting events of Season 5.
