A Metahuman, Hu Wei discovered how to trigger his own atavistic gene enabling him to transform into a lumbering, chaotic beast. He was taken in by the Great Ten who supplied him with an electronic medallion, which could be used to control his transformations.
Six months after the Infinite Crisis event, Hu Wei discarded the medallion and lost himself to his savage fury. He stalked the valleys of the Himalayan Mountains, killing over thirty people. The Great Ten sent the Accomplished Perfect Physician into the mountains to stop him. Along the way, Accomplished Perfect Physician met up with the American, Ralph Dibny, who had been engaged upon a quest to find Nanda Parbat. The Yeti attacked them by hurling a boulder at them from the top of an icy slope, but Dibny pushed the Accomplished Perfect Physician out of the way in time. The Physician then used his powers of sound to distract the Yeti, enabling Ralph the chance to slip the Medallion around the creature's neck, forcing him to change back into Hu Wei.
The Accomplished Perfect Physician brought Hu Wei back to China where he served with the Great Ten. During World War III, Hu Wei changed back into the Yeti and attempted to stop the rampaging Black Adam. Black Adam's strength greatly surpassed that of the Yeti and the battle quickly ended at the cost of the Yeti's life.Transformation: Hu Wei possessed the ability to transform from a normal human being into a gargantuan monster at will.
Superhuman
The Yeti wore an electronic charm designed to inhibit his animalistic rage. When it wass applied, the Yeti transformed back into his human form of Hu Wei.
Yeti may refer to:
The Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, is an apelike animal cryptid said to inhabit the Himalaya region of Nepal and Tibet.
Yeti are giant-folk who dwell in the hills and mountains of Cantha. Like the real-world cryptid of the same name, these creatures resemble a large, bipedal mixture of human and ape. The yeti are just intelligent enough to form a hunter-gatherer society with a deep tradition of honor and courage (as the yeti understand these concepts). Yeti have been known on rare occasions to interact peaceably with humans, speaking a broken version of the common tongue. Usually, however, they will attack humans on sight. They also seem to possess a deep and mutual enmity toward all the Canthan Tengu tribes.

Yeti are creatures that can be fought during or after the Glorious Memories quest. They can be only found in the Trollweiss Dungeon. They are human adventurers corrupted by the Gnoeals. As the yeti are found in the same area as the Gnoeals, which use magic attacks, players wearing melee armour may find the area dangerous. Occasionally, the yetis and the Gnoeals attack each other, similar to the inhabitants of the God Wars Dungeon
