Biography

Yep Roc is an indie label that has been growing over the years and has become a bit of a force in alt. country music, as well as other forms of rock, indie-rock, pop and indie-pop. A lot of their roster seems to be solo-projects of bands (Ken Stringfellow from The Posies, The Minus 5 from Scott McCaughey of The Young Fresh Fellows, Chris Stamey from the dBs, Robyn Hitchcock from The Soft Boys) or respected solo artists (Billy Bragg or Bob Mould also from Hüsker Dü and Sugar). They don't have much information about the label on the site, but they're based out of Chapel Hill, which seems to be a hotbed of bands as well, for example SNMNMNM. And I think Merge Records might be from there too? Someone who's from there would probably have more luck listing all those folks.
