Wild Bill is a dead slave found in the The Pitt. He carries the unique Wild Bill's Sidearm and a Note from Wild Bill explaining his death to Milly, in the year 2277.

Bill seemed to be kind hearted and heroic due to the fact he volunteered to gather Steel Ingots to save other slaves from being killed by the Trogs. According to the note found on his corpse, the trogs were easily dispatched and the steel was easily gathered, but the Wildmen finally put him to rest. Strangely, they didn't take his sidearm.

Wild Bill developed a keen relationship with a fellow slave Milly, as their time in the Mill together was some sort of a bonding experience.

Unmarked quest: Find Wild Bill

Main article: Find Wild Bill

Milly is extremely worried about Bill's disappearance and questions the player for any information regarding his whereabouts.

Wild Bill's Sidearm Note from Wild Bill -

  • Bill seems to disappear if Milly is killed during the riot. (Confirmed 360, PS3)
  • Bill occasionally seems to disappear completely for no reason, possibly drifting through the wall or floor so he is no longer accessible. PC users can fix this by using the moveto player command, using Wild Bill's ref id. No known fix for console versions (Unconfirmed PC, Confirmed PS3 X7) ((After a bit of testing on the PS3 version, it appears that talking to Milly, a Pitt slave involved in a side quest based around Wild Bill, might cause Wild Bill (and occasionally, the ingots beside him) to disappear))
  • Look under Find Wild Bill notes for a way to go behind and under the buildings to see if Wild Bill has fallen through the floor.
  • Even after locating Wild Bill and retrieving the note, no dialogue options may appear with Milly explaining what happened to Bill, thus rendering the quest not completable. (Unconfirmed PC)

Wild Bill appears in The Pitt add-on for Fallout 3.

  • Wild Bill is a reference to Wild Bill Hickok, an iconic figure from the American Old West period.
