Whiskey is a food item found in Fallout 3. Drinking it increases Strength one point, which allows you to temporarily carry 10 extra pounds of items, you run the risk of addiction, curable by doctors for a fee. It also boosts your Charisma by 1 point while lowering your Intelligence by 1 point.

Whiskey has all the same effects as Vodka as well as Beer for half the price of and being also more commonly found in various locations around the Wasteland than the former, albeit quite the opposite in both aspects considering the latter.

Notes

  • Whiskey can be found in bottles in Fallout 3.
  • When you look at the label you can see that the brand is 'Olde Royale Premium Whiskey.'
  • If you look closely at the label on the bottle, you can see a picture of Galileo Galilei in the lower right hand corner.
  • There are a few bottles of Whiskey for free in Tenpenny Tower
  • Whiskey is easy to spot. It has a slight orange glow to it, although not nearly as bright as Nuka-Cola Quantum.
  • Satcom Array NN-03D has miniature versions of full and empty whiskey bottles being used as chess pieces in an upstairs room. This is a possible reference to the movie (and novel) Our Man In Havana, in which a game of chess is played with miniature bottles of whiskey instead of regular chess pieces.
  • The Empty Whisky Bottle is spelled without the e.

There is more information available on this subject at Whiskey on the English-language Wikipedia.

Whiskey (Scottish Gaelic: uisge-beatha), or whiskey (Irish: uisce beatha or fuisce), refers to a broad category of alcoholic beverages that are distilled from fermented grain mash and aged in wooden casks (generally oak).

Different grains are used for different varieties, including: barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, and maize (corn). Whiskey derives from the Gaelic word for "water" (uisce or uisge), and is called in full uisge-beatha (in Scotland) or uisce beatha (Ireland), meaning "Water of Life". It is related to the Latin aqua vitae, also meaning "water of life". It is always Scotch whiskey, and Irish whiskey.

Whiskey was still in existence in 2531 and was drunk by Rear Admiral Rich during a meeting, which created the Spartan-III program, on the ONI Stealth Cruiser UNSC Point of No Return [1]. One-star Admiral Michael Stanforth enjoyed drinking whiskey.
