Wave Cannon, also known as Surge Beam, is a recurring enemy ability in the series. It is typically used by mechanical enemies, such as Omega and Air Force, and either deals damage equal to half of the party's max HP, or deals high Lightning-elemental damage to the party.

Only appearing in the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary versions, Wave Cannon is used by Omega, and inflicts massive non-elemental damage to the entire party.
Wave Cannon first appears in this game as an attack used by Omega, which deals damage to the entire party equal to half of each individual character's maximum HP. In the Advance remake, the even more powerful Omega Mk.II has access to this attack as well.
Wave Cannon, used by Air Force, Io, Gamma, Demon, Kaiser Dragon, and Omega Weapon, inflicts major Lightning-elemental damage to the party. It is only used by Air Force after it has finished its countdown for it.
