Those who desire to wield the dark forces of poison and decay to cripple and obliterate their foes will find the Warlock profession to be ideal. Wielding curses, summoning minions from the abyss, and calling upon the destructive forces of the void and the darkness, these mages are most effective when they rain down debilitation and damage upon entire groups of enemies at once.

Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary some stubbornly maintain that this structure was once a Forerunner arena.

Warlock is the remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer map, Wizard.

Contents

Summary

Warlock is similar to a dungeon, dark and gloomy. A small level, it has four bases close to one another, teleporters on all four sides, transporting the player to the opposite side of the arena. In the central cavity is an Active Camo inside a mid column bulge. The outer edges are used in each base as a housing for turrets at each base's ledge, accessible by a fan propelling upward. Warlock was added to Halo 2 in the Bonus Map Pack.

Warlock features the same weapon lineup as Wizard, except for some minor changes: the Assault Rifle has been replaced by the Battle Rifle, the addition of the SMG and the removal of the Overshield.

Territories

  • Blue Base
  • Yellow Base
  • Red Base
  • Green Base
  • Center

Glitches

  • Super Bounce: Go to the Blue Base and crouch under the ramp. Then run up jump to the center and jump to the corner of the ramp. Then you should jump really high and get out of the map.

Tactics

  • Shotgun: As with all small levels, the Shotguns that spawn by the Teleporters are highly valuable to you. Keep them close and surprise the enemy. Pair it with the Battle Rifle to make a better combo.
  • Plasma Rifle + SMG: Though not an original idea, this combo works and will cause most foes a headache, save for skilled Battle Rifle wielders who will drop you in a heart beat with just a few careless bursts. On another note, do not attempt the Shotgun wielders, as they will normally win when you charge them.
  • Battle Rifle: Here, the Battle Rifle is surpassed by combos, Plasma Grenades and Shotguns, but don't fret, as it will score a good amount of kills and force enemies to try and counter you by chasing you when you have to reload or your shields are low. Pair it with the Shotgun and a quick reaction time and most enemies can't touch you.
  • Dual SMGs: These have a strong advantage over most other weapons because of their long range and ability to wipe out enemy shields extremely quickly. Use them while taking cover by the bases.
  • Plasma Grenades: If you're ever out of ammo, or low on ammo, be sure to have a couple of these in your pocket to guarantee safety while you find some much needed ammo, though thanks to the small area of the map, unless you're camping, you should not run out of ammo. If you're good at sticking, you'll live for a long time with these.
  • Needlers: These pack a tremendous punch when used at close, long, and medium range because of one simple fact: they home in. They're also very powerful when single-wielded, though far more-so when dual-wielded.

Trivia

  • It is said that Warlock is haunted by hanging bats.
  • Warlock is one of the more popular Halo 2 levels; it was a popular MLG map, like Guardian in Halo 3
  • You can get on top of the map simply by using plasma grenades. Hop on the wall that protects the flag and use a plasma grenade to jump up on a ledge nearby. From there, you can use another plasma grenade (make sure to recharge your shields) to hop up on another ledge and you can walk around above the map. This could be a great sniping spot if no one notices you.

Warlock was a Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser, originally designed to be part of the Katana fleet. Due to problems that arose during its construction, however, the ship never left with its doomed sister ships, and instead entered Republic service, operating in the Outer Rim. By the time the Galactic Civil War broke out in earnest, it had become a near-derelict for want of spare parts. Seeing an opportunity knocking, Z'arr and some "associates" decided to "liberate" the ship from its berthing and used it to buy their way into an alliance with Wayland's Wilders. A lengthy refit under the direction of Syd N'aanzi restored the ship to fighting trim. To properly utilize the craft's capabilities, Kal Wierago transferred to her from Overkill, acting as a naval advisor and leaving his second-in-command, Layn Torve, in charge of the gunship.

Warlock

3500 Hit points
4000 Experience points per kill

Summon/Convince: --/--
Abilities: Melee (0-130), Explosive Arrow (Does Fire Damage, 0-180), Fire Bomb, Energy Missile (90-170), Great Cloud-Energy Beam (150-210), Mana Drain (0-110?), Paralysis, Invisibility (often), Self-Healing, Summons 0-1 Stone Golem, Icicle reducing melee skills by a half.
Pushable: ?
Push Objects: ?
Est. Max. Damage: 810 + Stone Golem's damage hp per turn
Immune To: Fire, Energy, Ice, Invisibility, Paralysis.
Strong To: Earth (-95%)
Neutral To: Death, Drown?, Life Drain?
Weak To: Physical (+1%?), Holy (+1%?)
Sounds: "Even a rat is a better mage than you!"; "Learn the secret of our magic! YOUR death!"; "We don't like intruders!".
Behavior: Warlocks try to attack their opponents at a distance using their powerful spells. They will run at red health.
Field Notes: The fourth most powerful mage in Tibia and the strongest sorcerer-type monster that is not a boss (equivalent to Infernalist). They will regularly spam you with 2-3 different magic attacks each turn. Besides Great Cloud Beam, Energy Missile and melee, all damage they do is fire damage, even their burst and explosion. Their Fire Field spell is five spaces instead of one, adding one Fire Field in each direction: North, South, East & West.
Location: Demona, Ghostland (Banshee Quest area), Hero Cave, Oasis Tomb, Kharos, Magician Quarter, beneath Fenrock.
Strategy: They are extremely dangerous. They use invisibility very frequently and keep their distance, so it's hard to tell where they are.
Knights should attack them as soon as possible with a two handed weapon since they are weak in Melee and defense. Make sure you trap them in a corner, they can be a real pain when they are running around everywhere. When blocking Warlocks it is normally more efficient to use full offense rather than full defense. Running in their direction and using Groundshaker is a good way to make them visible again, you can also use Whirlwind Throw shortly after they go invisible and they will be visible again.
Paladins, Druids and Sorcerers should have a blocker. Druids and Sorcerers should attack them with SDs or Explosion. High leveled mages should trap them in a corner and use Exori Mort to kill them, and occasionally Exura Gran. A skilled Paladin could solo a warlock by trapping it in a corner and attacking with Assassin Stars while using Divine Missile or runes to break their invisibility, alternatively Divine Caldera if the warlock isn't trapped. For all vocations it is recommended to carry Stone Shower runes ONLY to break warlocks' invisibility, as it won't deal any good damage even if your Level is high.
Loot: 0-150 gp, 0-5 Cherries, Bread, Candlestick, Crystal Ring, Dark Mushroom, Energy Ring, Inkwell, Mind Stone, Poison Dagger, Skull Staff, Talon, Great Health Potion, Great Mana Potion, Blue Robe (semi-rare), 0-4 Assassin Star (semi-rare), Small Sapphire (semi-rare), Red Tome (rare), Ring of the Sky (rare), Stone Skin Amulet (rare), Lightning Robe (very rare), Lightning Legs (very rare), Golden Armor (very rare), Piggy Bank (very rare).
