Void spinner: Misc

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Void spinner is a Summoning familiar, introduced with the "Summoning 2" update on 31 March, 2008. It requires level 34 Summoning.

To make a Void Spinner pouch you need to use an empty pouch, a Blue Charm, a Spinner Charm, and 74 Shards on an Obelisk.

The void spinner will automatically heal one hitpoint approximately every 15 seconds up to a player's maximum health. Note that the healing ability still works even if a player does not have any remaining Summoning points.

The healing effect makes the Void Spinner useful in single combat environments as it can restore up to 108 hitpoints over its summoning duration of 27 minutes. This is equivalent to 9 cooked lobsters, although a player could heal much more hp for the same cost by buying the lobsters rather than investing in a spinner familiar. Therefore, it's best application is for when you need healing but also need inventory space for things like monster drops.

Although the Bunyip has a better healing rate than the Void Spinner, the Void Spinner can be useful for the player who doesn't have 68 Summoning.

Void Spinner Pouch is made by using a Summoning pouch on a Summoning obelisk with 74 spirit shards, a blue charm and a Void Spinner Charm in the inventory. Making the pouch earns 59.6 experience points.

Call to arms scroll

Call To Arms

Call To Arms is a special move for all of the void summoning familiars. When activated it will teleport players to the Void Knight Outpost.

  • The void spinner seems to be a based upon the Portuguese Man o' War, a type of poisonous jellyfish.
  • The void spinner's special ability is similar to that of its original monster encountered in Pest Control, which heals the portals.
