History

Vishnu was once one of the Adityas, children of the ancient goddess Aditi, worshipped in the old former Vedic Pantheon. In his youth, he was close friends of the thunder-god, Indra, who was described as his brother. Under Hinduism, Visnu became one of the most powerful and revered gods in modern India.
