Venus (Sol II) is the second planet in the Sol system. Due to the presence of large amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the surface temperature was over 700 degrees kelvin, with an extremely high atmospheric pressure.

By the 24th century, efforts were underway to terraform the planet. Several terraforming stations were established on the surface of Venus. (DS9 episodes: "Past Tense").

Project Ishtar and Doctor Pascal Saadya oversaw these efforts. (SCE: Ishtar Rising)

History

Venus is a terrestrial planet, and is the second closest orbiting body to the sun in the Sol system. Venus is covered with an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of carbon dioxide, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light. Due to its size and mass, Venus is often regarded as Earth's sister planet.

  • Venus is the home world of the Venusian worm, Mister Mind.
  • In Earth-S continuity, Doctor Sivana once established a base of operations on Venus and crowned his daughter, Beautia, the Empress of Venus.

Notes

  • The planet Venus is named for the Roman Goddess of Love. The Greek equivilant to Venus is the Goddess Aphrodite.

From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki

Venus is a planet in the Beast Era of the Generation One continuity family.

Venus is hell. Although the planet is named after the Roman Goddess of Beauty, it is a smeltering world with surface temperatures hot enough to melt lead, caused by a runaway greenhouse effect in an atmosphere composed mainly of carbon dioxide. It rains sulphuric acid. Nice place.

Venus is part of Earth's solar system, and can be spotted from Earth's surface with the naked eye.
