From Final Fantasy Wiki

Veld (ヴェルド, Verudo), also known as Verdot, is the leader of the Turks in Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-. His official Shinra title is "Head of the Department of Administrative Research." He is very particular on matters relating to succeeding in missions and very unforgiving when it comes to failure. Though many of his subordinates are intimidated by his severity, they all deeply respect him. After a disaster in Kalm caused by his own commands, Veld's family was killed and he lost his arm. He replaced it with a prosthetic with a Materia inside it, so that he could continue to fight alongside his Turks.

Before Crisis

Veld is the original leader of the Turks during their battle with AVALANCHE. Though he leads them with competence and foresight, AVALANCHE manages to get away due to their special intelligence from a traitor inside Shinra. President Shinra suspects Veld, and replaces him with Heidegger for an operation in Junon. But Heidegger almost destroys the entire city, so Veld takes back command of his Turks by blackmailing President Shinra. What he uses to blackmail the President is unknown.

When Veld learns that the AVALANCHE commander, Elfé, is really his daughter Felicia, he defects from Shinra. The Turks are ordered to capture him, but they instead join with him to find the Support Materia for Zirconiade and save Elfé. He is captured by Scarlet in the Corel Prison, but is later rescued. After Zirconiade is defeated, his second-in-command Tseng reports that Veld and Elfé are dead. Tseng takes control of the Turks, while Veld disappears along with his daughter and the player Turks.

Veld has a minor appearance in On the Way to a Smile: Case of Shinra. He appears in Midgar during the fall of Meteor with the player Turks from Before Crisis, and with the four current Turks they all witness Holy destroy Meteor.

Veld later returns after Meteorfall alone to see the Turks, who are helping to protect Shinra property in Midgar from scavengers. He tells them about Mutten Kylegate forming a team to scavenge for supplies, and by supplying them Kylegate's rank causes them to realize Kylegate is holding Rufus captive. Veld then leaves for Junon to meet with Reeve, and tells Tseng that his other Turks are out collecting information around the world, but also lead their own lives now.

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

RuneScape uses the British convention for floor numbering: Ground floor, first floor (immediately above the ground floor), second floor, etc.

A Bloodveld is a Slayer monster requiring level 50 Slayer to kill. They have very similar drops to Lesser demons, including Rune med helms and Steel scimitars, and a decent drop rate of Green charms.

Their appearance changed upon release of the Smoking Kills quest on 5 June 2008.

Strengths and weaknesses

The Bloodveld's attack, though melee, is based on magic; therefore, players with high Magic defence will take less damage. It is strongly recommended that players wear Dragonhide armour or other armour with high magical defence bonuses to take as little damage as possible. However, the Protect from Melee prayer will fully protect players from the Bloodveld's attack.

A good tactic for Bloodveld slayer tasks is to use Bones to Peaches (the spell or the tab works just as well). Since they drop bones it saves time having to bank for food.

Bloodvelds have rather low Defence and Strength for their levels and can only hit a maximum of 5 (level 76) or 7 (level 81), though they are fairly accurate.

Ranged and Magic

These monsters may be safely fought using Ranged, Magic, or melee with a Halberd, as there are several safe spots available in all their habitats. Their high Hitpoints make them a very good training method for Ranged, with more experience per hour than with Fire giants. Bloodveld are difficult to fight effectively using magic for players at or below level 60 magic.

The Slayer Tower is a popular place to fight Bloodveld, and safe spots can be found behind chairs, at the wall that separates the two southern rooms, and at the turn in the corridor to the north. Also heap of bricks are good safe spot.

There also are safe spots in the Zamorak area of the God Wars Dungeon, near the entrance. Bloodveld also have higher hitpoints there, which means more experience. Another bonus of training here is that players will still get the Slayer experience if another monster kills the Bloodveld, so long as the player has inflicted at least one damage on the Bloodveld first.

Guthan's set, with its healing ability, may be used, especially by players who have high magic levels. Although Guthan's gear itself does not give magic defence bonuses, the set special effect will activate as usual, healing the player. However, using the spear as a weapon, rather than a faster weapon, may be required more often than normal. To save wear-and-tear on Guthan's armour, some players also bring armour with high magical defence and only switch to Guthan's set when hitpoints are low.

Since Bloodveld skin is unprotected, they're weaker to slash attacks and stab attacks, and due to being demonic, they're also vulnerable to the effects of Silverlight and Darklight.

Demonic nature

Slayer Masters sometimes refer to bloodveld as a "strange, demonic creature" or a "half-ton demon". Bloodveld drop bones when they die, while all other demons crumble to ash. It has been confirmed that Silverlight and Darklight have their special effects when fighting Bloodveld. It would seem that they are definitely a type of demon, despite their dissimilarity with other creatures within that classification.  This may be due to the fact that Bloodvelds seem to be the result of human experimentation as the examine for the mutated bloodvelds is "A bloodveld with a very mixed heritage".

Herbs and seeds

  • When Sumona, Chaeldar, Duradel, and Lapalok refer to multiple Bloodveld, they call them bloodveld. This means that the plural of Bloodveld is still Bloodveld, much like deer or moose.
  • Bloodveld are loyal to Zamorak, as shown in the God Wars Dungeon.
  • Bloodveld resemble both Headcrabs and Barnacles from Valve's Half-Life series.
  • Bloodveld are the only type of demon to drop bones rather than ashes.
