V for Vendetta was a ten-issue limited series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd. The first seven issues of the series were originally featured in select issues of Warrior Magazine. Issues #8-10 were published by DC Comics. The entire series has been collected in trade paperback edition as well as DC's hardcover Absolute edition. The series takes place in the near future, where England is ruled by a Fascist government known as the Norsefire party. A masked anarchist known only as V conducts a series of violent attacks against the party as part of a large scale vendetta for the treatment he suffered at a concentration camp. Along the way, he meets a young prostitute, Evey Hammond, and indoctrinates her into his surreal and violent lifestyle.

In its original inception, V for Vendetta was drawn in Black and White. Alan Moore prefers that version.[1]
