Details

In order to avoid the self destruction of the species, he desired to forcefully evolve humans into one, perfect race, removing the inequalities that are the cause of strife among humans. To this end, he used the Forced Evolutionary Virus to create his race, the Super Mutants, also called the Master's Army.

With the discovery of the Los Angeles Vault, and the establishment of the Children of the Cathedral, the Master created the means of conversion and recruitment of people into his project. Under the disguise of apostles of peace, establishing hospitals and churches in the cities of the wasteland, the Children and the Mutants, led by the Nightkin elite warriors, prepared for a war that would change the face of the Earth and bring upon the master's dream.

Alternative Nature

However, according to the Master's personal Audio Log, he also had a different vision on the Unity's true goal, the one that involved merging humanity together. Literally. It is known that using FEV, Master was absorbing both organic and technical material into himself, growing larger and larger. The creatures he absorbed not only become his biomass, but also their very minds were merged with the Master.

It is possible that this discrepancy is due to the Master having multiple personalities at this point, each which different ideas of what the future of humanity should be. Another possibility is that the Master considered both visions of the Unity to be perfect at the same time, desiring to see both the world of Super Mutants and himself, expanding to new minds and bodies.

Unity's End

The Unity was destroyed before it could be created, by the Vault Dweller, who killed the Master and destroyed his research center as well as the Mariposa Military Base, destroying any chance of the project ever succeeding. Regardless, even if the Master DID succeed, the Unity would fail, as the FEV rendered the supermutants sterile and the Unity would bring about the final end of humanity.

As for the Master's followers, the super mutants split into several different groups. A very large group traveled East, reaching as far as the Midwest, becoming Gammorin's Army. Another group was noted as traveling North, some (like Marcus) settled down to coexist with humans, and some small groups still wander the wastes attacking all non-supermutants.

Unity's structure

The Unity was composed of several persons, organizations and sub-organizations working together. The head of the Unity was the Master himself. The Unity consisted of:

Appearances

The Unity as goal and organization appeared only in Fallout. It is mentioned in Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Fallout: BOS. Some characters from other games, like Attis and Erkal, were aimed to resurrect the Unity's purpose, but failed.

Star Wars Fanon

The Star Wars wiki of fan invention.

Unity was a unique lightsaber form as well as general combat style that Darth Andrell developed over his many years of Force training. Having learned of the Force on his own, Andrell had no Masters to personally train him in any particular form, so he did the best he could alone, studying as much material as he could from the manuals and holocrons he came across. From doing this, Andrell began to develop his own "jack of all trades" style, a combination of what he considered the most important techniques from the seven official forms.

As it became more developed, Andrell fared quite well in lightsaber combat with other Force users, however in most battles his opponent was able to identify a weakness in Andrell's technique, and though he was never injured, Andrell took from each experience and improved upon his form.

After Andrell returned from the Force Planet with a large augmentation in his powers, he began to realize that lightsaber combat, though it had been a substantial part of the lives of Jedi, Sith, and most Force users throughout history, was still at its core a physical thing, not truly of the Force. However, so long as people were also physical, the need for physicalities remained in life. So, Andrell created the most physically and Force-balanced lightsaber technique known by combining his former mixed style with near total connection to the Force, and called it Unity.

Unity required an extremely strong knowledge of the Force, yet in ways was simpler than any other form. Unity worked by one giving their fighting will over to the Force, and letting it do the fighting for them. Thus, its simplicity lied in the fact that the wielder had to perform almost no physical action; the usage of the saber would be mental, but with physical outcome.

Unity had proven superior to the classic forms, and Andrell had trained a handful of other Neo-Sith in its use, including Neo-Sith Warrior Gelu Torva.

Essentially, Andrell's method of fighting with the Force's will could be applied to any lightsaber form, but would only augment the wielder within the general confines of whatever form or forms they had been training with. Some examples of this included Neo-Sith Lord Jada Yory, who had applied this to her Form IV and III blend, and Darth Saido, who did so with his Form V.

Eventually, Andrell hoped to evolve Unity to the point where prior knowledge of any lightsaber form was not needed, instead beginning one's training immediately with submission to the Force's will.
