The USS Prospero (NCC-1962) was a Miranda-class starship in service to Starfleet in the 23rd and 24th centuries. (Trekmania)

The Prospero was still in service in the 2370s and was a participant in several engagements during the Dominion War. In late 2375, the Prospero was part of the Federation Alliance task force that was dispatched to the Chin'toka system to defend it from a Dominion counter-attack. During the battle, the Prospero was disabled by the Breen energy dissipators and was quickly destroyed.

Thankfully, many of the Propero's crewmembers were able to get to escape pods. One of the many survivors was Lieutenant Alison Hughes, who served aboard as assistant chief engineer. (Star Trek: Daedalus)
