The USS Prague was a Starfleet starship that, as of 2346, was a cadet training vessel for Starfleet Academy. In that year, fourth-year pre-med student Beverly Howard was assigned to the Prague for a month-long training cruise, from Starbase 218 to Memory Alpha, then back to Earth. Also aboard was Lieutenant Commander Walker Keel, as an instructor.

During this voyage, the Prague discovered an uncharted tetryon field, which took the warp drive off line, resulting in numerous injuries. Howard quickly provided what assistance she was able to in dealing with the aftermath of this accident, creating a lasting positive impression on Keel. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
