The USS Merrimack was a Nebula-class explorer in service in the 24th century.

In 2366, the Merrimack was assigned to personnel transport duties; it ferried Ambassador Sarek and his entourage back to Vulcan after the successful conclusion of a treaty on Legara IV. (TNG episode: "Sarek")

You may be looking for the Defiant-class USS Merrimac (NX-74207).

The USS Merrimac (NCC-61827) was a Nebula-class Federation starship, active in the late 24th century. Commander Rudman served aboard the Merrimac in 2369 at least. (TNG: "Birthright, Part I")

The Merrimac participated in several transport missions, including ferrying Ambassador Sarek and his entourage back to Vulcan in 2366 and Cadet Wesley Crusher back to Starfleet Academy in 2368. (TNG: "Sarek", "The Game")

It also embarked on special missions, including working with the Vulcan Science Academy in 2366 and as part of a blockade the Romulan-Klingon border against Romulan forces during 2368's Klingon Civil War. (TNG: "Brothers", "Redemption II")

In 2381, the Merrimac particpated in the Battle of Minark and was destroyed by the CWS Revenge. (Star Trek: Pioneer (STP): "Torment and Woe")

As there is a Defiant-class USS Merrimac, it would be assumed the Nebula-class Merrimac is no longer in service.
