The USS Gandhi (NCC-26632) was a Federation Ambassador-class heavy cruiser in service in the 24th century. (ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia)

The Gandhi was launched in 2324, and amongst the officers to serve aboard her during the shakedown cruise was Lieutenant (j.g.) Rachel Garrett, as tactical officer. (ST video game: Starship Creator; TLE short story: "Hour of Fire")

During her service career, the Gandhi was a participant in the Coreworld Frontier Survey Initiative. On this initiative, this starship conducted first contact with the Zakdorn. (ST roleplay module: Starships)

While performing relief work with Bajoran refugees, the Gandhi's commanding officer was killed while attempting to negotiate an exchange of hostages with the Cardassians. Fortunately, Lieutenant Commander Garrett took charge of the situation and prevented any more unnecessary bloodshed. (ST short story: "Hour of Fire"; ST game: Starship Creator)

Starship Creator gives the date of this incident as 2332, which is at odds with "Hour of Fire" (and other sources), which have Garrett serving as commanding officer of the USS Enterprise-C by this date.

In 2364, Cadet Jayme Miranda's mother was assigned to the vessel. She still served aboard in 2370, as Miranda had a conversation with her. (TNG novel: The Best and the Brightest)

In 2369, the Gandhi was assigned to perform a terraforming mission in the Legana sector. In this year, Lieutenant Thomas Riker was assigned to the Gandhi following his recovery from Nervala IV. (TNG episode: "Second Chances")

By 2371, the Gandhi, under the command of Captain Azon Lexen, had completed its terraforming mission and was assigned to a patrol of the Demilitarized Zone. In this year, Lexen ordered Riker to deliver medical supplies via shuttlecraft to Outpost Sierra III. However, Riker and the supplies were captured by the Maquis to help combat a new outbreak of the Double Helix virus. Following the development of a cure, Riker decided to remain with the Maquis. (TNG novel: Quarantine; DS9 episode: "Defiant")

The Gandhi is described in Quarantine as being a Galaxy-class vessel.

The USS Gandhi (NCC-26632) was an Ambassador-class heavy cruiser, active in Starfleet in the 24th century.

Gandhi was noted for having made first contact with the Zakdorn while on the Coreward Frontier Survey Initiative. (Decipher ST:RPG Starships)

The Gandhi was performing a terraforming mission in the Lagana sector in 2369. Thomas Riker transferred to the ship in that same year after the USS Enterprise-D rescued him from Nervala IV. (TNG: "Second Chances")

Lieutenant Mary Barranco served aboard the Gandhi in 2371. During that time, she had a brief fling with Tom Riker. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "Wounded Soldiers")

After frequently expressing his support for the Maquis and their cause, Riker deserted the Gandhi in 2371 to join them. (DS9: "Defiant")

At some point the Gandhi was assigned to Task Group 8-2. (Starfleet Command (RPG))
