The USS Endeavour (NCC-71805) was a Federation Nebula-class explorer in service to Starfleet in the late 24th century. Its commanding officers have included Joseph Amasov and Nikolas Kyprios. In 2367, Amasov commanded the Endeavour in the Battle of Wolf 359. In what he perceived to be his final moments, Amasov transmitted his analysis of the Borg: "In all my years I could never imagine terror such as this. Cold. Calculating... Murderous. It is just a matter of pure luck that any of us are alive right now. The Borg are as close to pure evil as any race we've ever encountered."

Miraculously the Endeavour survived the battle, the only ship to do so, and at the cost of half her crew. Amasov stayed in a hospital on Earth for some time following the battle. While still hospitalised, Starfleet held a hearing to discuss whether or not Jean-Luc Picard should be allowed to return to command following his role in the Borg attack. Amasov's log was played in the hearing as evidence against the Borg and, by extension, Picard. (TNG comic: "Loyalty")

In 2368 the Endeavour was assigned to the Starfleet blockade force at the Klingon-Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War. (TNG: "Redemption, Part II") Later that year, the ship was assigned to a patrol circuit in the Cleon system. (TNG episode: "The Game")

Captain Amasov of the Endeavour was at some point involved in a conflict with the Borg sometime prior to 2371. After the battle, Amasov reflected, "...It is my opinion that the Borg are as close to pure Evil as any race we've ever encountered." (VOY episode: "Scorpion")

In 2372, the Endeavour brought Aidan Thorn, Esteban Lopez and its counselor, Constance Barnes, to Deep Space 9. (DS9 novel: Saratoga)

In 2373, the Endeavour faced the Borg at the Battle of Sector 001. (TNG movie: Star Trek: First Contact)

Notes

Many fans (and the Star Trek Encyclopedia and the Decipher rpg supplement Starships) speculate that the engagement referred to in VOY: "Scorpion" was the Battle of Wolf 359, and that the Endeavour was the sole ship to survive the assault intact. However, there is no direct evidence for this, aside from the fact that Janeway had to have been referring to an encounter that took place before Voyager was transported to the Delta Quadrant. In fact, it was never specified if Endeavour was part of the battle, since she was simply quoting Amasov's words, and did not note in what position or where he was when he faced the Borg. Until the comic, Loyalty, the issue has been resolved.

Named for HMS Endeavour, specifically, HM Bark Endeavour commanded by Lieutenant James Cook in his voyage of exploration in the Pacific from 1768–1771, for which the later NASA space shuttle Endeavour is also named--hence the British spelling.

The USS Endeavour (NCC-71805) was a Nebula-class starship in service in the late 24th century. Her commanding officer at one point was Captain Amasov. (VOY: "Scorpion")

The ship faced the Borg at least twice in her career: once prior to 2371 and once in 2373 at the Battle of Sector 001. (VOY: "Scorpion"; Star Trek: First Contact)

The Star Trek Encyclopedia speculated the Endeavour faced the Borg during the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367 and was the only Starfleet vessel to survive.

In 2367 during the Battle of Wolf 359, the Endeavour informed the USS Roosevelt to watch something before changing to say the Roosevelt was caught in something. The USS Rebellious interrupted the transmission to say they were en route to assist the Roosevelt. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles: "The Burnt Child")

The USS Prospect discovered the Endeavour helpless but recoverable at Wolf 359 after the battle, assisting the ship before it could return to service on its own power. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles: "The Burnt Child")

Lieutenant Candela Greene, Operations Officer would resign her commission after the Endeavour was repaired. (Star Trek Crusader)

In 2368, the Endeavour helped form the Starfleet blockade at the Klingon-Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War and also patrolled the Cleon system. (TNG: "Redemption, Part II", "The Game")

In late 2377, the Endeavour was assigned to a fleet of starships that were massed along the Romulan Neutral Zone in preparation for a Romulan attack. (Star Trek: Daedalus: "The Daedalus Incident", "Diplomatic Implausibility")

In 2382, the Endeavour was damaged during the Battle of Minark. (Star Trek: Pioneer (STP): "Torment and Woe")

The vessel was destroyed in 2387 at the Battle of Beta Frontier. (Star Trek: Pioneer (PNR): "Destiny of Freedom")
