The USS Dauntless was an Intrepid-class Federation starship, Starfleet registry NCC-74658, launched from McKinley Station in 2372 under the command of Captain Peter J. Koester.

During its short career, the Dauntless participated in the Battle of Sector 001 against the Borg in 2373 and Operation Return, the battle to re-take Deep Space Nine in 2374, before being destroyed in a classified incident in late 2374. She was replaced by a new Sovereign-class starship renamed Dauntless (NCC-75310) launched in early 2375. (Star Trek: Dauntless)
