History

The Turtle was one of Jay Garrick's old enemies during the 1940s.

The Turtle, in Jay's absence, had hoped to establish an empire over Keystone. He met up with the Turtle Man, one of Barry Allen's foes who had idolized him. Impressed by his younger counterpart's technical expertise in devising Turtle gadgets, he granted him a laboratory. Together, they based their operations in an abandoned salt mine miles below Keystone.

However, the arrival of Wally West in his city thwarted these plans. Wally and his friends had managed to defeat some of his best men, Mr. Sloe, Mr. Steddy, and Mr. Sprynt, who had taken the members of the Rathaway family hostage. The Turtle had need of an account book that Mr. Rathaway had taken, hoping for leverage to settle some financial troubles.[1]

After this incident, the Turtle began to focus on defeating Wally. He sent an actress to his apartment, pretending that he had killed her dog, to shake him up.

One of the Joker's former henchman, Juice Mantee, had moved to Keystone from Gotham and became an employee of the Turtle. His use of Joker venom to kill police precinct captain Daniel Phillips combined with a woman's deluded misconception that the Joker was out to kill her baby to make it seem like the Joker was in Keystone City, frightening the Turtle. However, the Flash uncovered the truth.

Mason Trollbridge had followed the actress that the Turtle had sent earlier to an abandoned warehouse. He took Wally there, but when Wally entered, the Turtle unleashed an ultrasound trap that blocked his nerve impulses designed by Turtle Man.

After his plans were foiled and Wally was released by his friends, Turtle detonated a bomb in his lair, hoping to kill Wally along with him. However, the Kapitalist Kouriers freed Wally just in time, leaving Turtle alone in the blast.

From GuildWiki

Turtles in Cantha resemble real life sea turtles but tend to be much larger in size. They are found around the Jade Sea and come in different types. Some are hostile (such as the Kappa), some can be allied units (such as the Siege Turtles) and some simply just sit there doing nothing and breathing very slowly, like the Giant Turtles seen by the beach in Cavalon.

For a list of all turtles, see Category:Turtles.

Turtle
Any of several varieties of reptiles that can live in fresh water, salt water or on land and have a hard shell covering their bodies. Some turtles can grow quite large, weighing over 1,000 pounds. For cooking purposes the sea or green turtle -- found in temperate marine waters is best known. It has a smooth olive green shell and green to whitish flesh; the green flesh is considered superior. These turtles are often made into a thick turtle soup that usually includes Maderia or Sherry as an ingredient. Terrapin, a small (7- to 8-inch) turtle species that inhabits fresh or brackish water, is considered by many to have the best meat. Terrapin meat is sometimes pounded and served like steak. Tortoises live on land and are considered less desirable than terrapin or sea turtles. Regardless of the species, the meat of the female is much more tender than that of the mate. Conservation measures have limited the availability of this reptile, but some turtle meat can be found in East Coast markets, along the Gulf Coast and in Chinese markets in various regions. Canned and frozen turtle meat can sometimes be found in specialty food stores.

Runescape

Up to date as of February 07, 2010
(Redirected to Sea turtle article)

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Sea turtles can be fished by members who have level 79 Fishing or higher, and sea turtles can be cooked by members who have level 82 Cooking or higher. Sea turtles heal 21 hitpoints in one serving.

Sea turtles, like manta rays, can only be caught during the Fishing Trawler minigame.

Sea turtles give 38 Fishing experience per catch, and 211.3 Cooking experience for successfully cooking a sea turtle.

Sea turtles are possibly the rarest food in RuneScape, because they do not sell very easily, and they are much more rare than Manta rays.

Fossegrimen will accept a raw sea turtle to enchant a Lyre with 4 charges, or 6 charges while wearing Fremennik sea boots. Interestingly, it is one teleport charge more than enchanting with a Manta ray.

With level 99 Cooking and Cooking gauntlets, players still burn roughly one out of every four sea turtles. However, cooking them at the Lumbridge Castle cooking range, with level 99 Cooking and using the Cooking cape to temporarily raise Cooking to level 100, players only burn about three out of twenty-eight sea turtles.
