From Dofus

In Dofus, there are a number of transportation systems for players to travel across the world more quickly and easily. Some require kamas, a certain alignment or certain quests to be completed to use.

Contents

Zaap

The most common type method of travel across huge ares of Dofus. Zaaps are gates that allow instant travel to other zaaps for a small fee. They are displayed on the world map as blue spheres.

Zaapi

Only available in the cites of Bonta and Brakmar. They function as a mini-zaap mass transit metro system for the city, taking players to important places in the city very quickly for a small fee.

Imp Carrier

Only usable by the alignment that controls Imp Village. They can carry players on airships to places often out of reach from zaaps for free. They are shown on the world map as 'chief-like hats' that represent an airship.

Railway System

The Railway System (also called the Miner Transport) is a underground railway that travels to varies mines at random around Dofus - for a small fee and killing 2 Dark Miners.

Scaratransport

Only available on Otomai Island. NPCs use tamed scaraleafs to carry players across the island - however players must help out each NPC by completing their quest first before they get to use this free transport.

Boat

Boats act as ferries ran by NPCs for players to reach certain islands for a fee. They travel between two set points. Boats are marked on the world map as a paper boat with a few waves beneath it.

Transportation to Astrub

Only way to get out of Incarnam.

Transport is a support ability for all UNSC leaders in Halo Wars, accessed from the Spirit Of Fire menu. It targets a group of units, and calls down one or more Dropship 77-Troop Carrier, depending on the size of the group, from the Spirit of Fire to transport them from one area to another, as long as the target location is within the player's Line Of Sight. The Pelicans are not usable in-game, but have their own health statistics and can be shot down during transport.

While the Covenant employ a similar system in the campaign, using Spirit dropships, this feature is unavailable in multiplayer for both A.I. and Covenant players. This is most likely due to the fact that the Covenant have Gravity Lifts which transport their units to their leader unit.

Trivia

  • If a player has a SPARTAN who has hijacked a Covenant vehicle and Pelicans come to transport it, its animation is being hot dropped.
  • Unlike other UNSC units in Halo Wars, the camera will not follow the Pelican if you put your crosshairs over it.
  • It is the only leader power for the UNSC that does not have to recharge.
  • In Beachhead (Level) you can't transport the Super Scarab.

Transportation includes all of the varied means of getting around the RuneScape realm of Gielinor.

Contents

On foot

A player walking.
A player running.

Walking and running are the basic methods of travel. Players walk at a speed of 1 square per server cycle (0.6 second) and run at a speed of 2 squares per server cycle, both diagonally and orthogonally. The amount of weight carried determines how quickly a player's energy is drained while running. The player's Agility level determines how quickly energy is recovered while walking or standing. Pressing and holding down the 'Ctrl' key and clicking on a part of the game window or Minimap temporarily turns on run.

By shortcuts

Main article: Shortcuts

By taking shortcuts with agility, a player is able to reach a destination faster. The higher the Agility level, the more shortcuts are available.

Some common examples of agility shortcuts are:

  • Stile
  • Rope swing
  • Underwall tunnel
  • Log balance
  • Pipe squeeze
  • Rock climb
  • Stepping stones

See also shortcuts under the Agility article.

By air

By trains or carts

By water

Sailing is a large transportation method used to get to difficult locations. It is not commonly used because of inconvenient port locations, but can be very useful to get to places such as Entrana.

Port Locations and Prices:

Sailing prices can be lowered if you are wearing the Ring of Charos(a), which is obtained during the Garden of Tranquillity quest.

By Fairy Rings

A player teleports using fairy ring system.

Fairy Rings is a system founded by fairies. It requires the completion of part of the A Fairy Tale Part II. Players can use this system by stepping onto a "eye" on the ground in Gielinor with either Dramen staff or Lunar staff, which will teleport players to Zanaris.

Some useful teleport locations are:

  • Kharidian Desert.
  • Fisher Realm.
  • TzHaar City.
  • Legend's Guild.
  • Miscellania.
  • South-west Karamja.
  • West of Grand Exchange.
  • Canifis.
  • Zanaris

By Wilderness portals

There are six portals in the wilderness, located in level 13, 19, 27, 35, 44 and 50. They can be activated by touching any one of the pillars. Then, all the NPCs (i.e. Revenants) and players inside the portals are teleported to any other random one.

Other methods

Random destinations

Ignoring many of the random event NPCs, such as the sandwich lady will result in free transportation to random places. Since the destination is unknown many players avoid such methods of travel. Regardless, many adventurers (and even those that are simply bored) enjoy the element of the unknown.

A transport ship is a limited role starship, usually used to transport people or goods between one port and another. Transport ships are different from shuttlecraft or freighters in that their cargo can be a wide range of things. Examples of transport ships include, but are not limited to, civilian personnel carriers and military troop transports.

Colony ships are a specialized type of transport ship, designed to ferry colonists to establish a colony.

Starwars

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Size comparison of various transports.

A transport was a small or medium sized spacecraft or other such craft commonly used for short cargo (or smuggling) runs that didn't require the use of a bulky freighter. Usually equipped with a hyperdrive, though this was not always the case, transports came in a wide variety of sizes and specifications and were produced by a large number of companies. A good example of such a craft is the Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 light freighter, which could be configured for various goods, Human or otherwise. This class of spacecraft was very easy to modify and adapt, and as such was popular amongst smugglers and pirates.

Although most transports were owned and operated by civilians and the criminal element, some militaries used them for the movement of troops and/or their equipment, such as the Sentinel-class landing craft, by Cygnus Spaceworks, used by the Imperial Navy to swiftly deploy its personnel to planets below.
