"Touch" is a Sesame Street song about touching, holding and feeling. It is sung by Joe Raposo over a film showcasing how people interact with different textures such as squeezing balloons, playing in the sand and rolling in the grass.

Touch are a set of Status-inflicting abilities used throughout the series. While not named until Final Fantasy X, they have been predominant in the series since Final Fantasy II, and most often appears as sub-abilities for weapons. The following list entails all of the Touch abilities:

Darktouch - 50% chance of inflicting Blind.
Silencetouch - 50% chance of inflicting Silence.
Sleeptouch - 50% chance of inflicting Sleep.
Stonetouch - 50% chance of inflicting Petrify.
Poisontouch - 50% chance of inflicting Poison
Zombietouch - 50% chance of inflicting Zombie. Only appears in Final Fantasy X.
Slowtouch - 50% chance of inflicting Slow.
Deathtouch - 50% chance of inflicting Instant Death.

Appearances

Final Fantasy II

Touch abilities first appears in the series in this game, and only consists of Blindtouch and Cursetouch.

Final Fantasy III

Poisontouch, Paralyzetouch, Slow Numbtouch, Stonetouch, Sleeptouch, Silencetouch, and Confusetouch all join the Touch abilities in this game (though Paralyze and Slow Numbtouch aren't named in any game).

Final Fantasy IV

Cursetouch, Deathtouch, Sleeptouch, Stonetouch, Piggytouch, Poisontouch, Blindtouch, Silencetouch, Berserktouch, and Confusetouch all appear in this game.

Final Fantasy V

Poisontouch, Deathtouch, Confusetouch, Oldtouch, Sleeptouch, and Paralyzetouch are the only Touch abilities to be found in the game.

Final Fantasy VI

Deathtouch, Stonetouch, and Poisontouch are the only Touch abilities to appear in the game.

Final Fantasy X

Various Touch abilities can be found on dropped weapons or customized onto weapons by various means, and includes Darktouch, Deathtouch, Zombietouch, Silencetouch, Sleeptouch, Stonetouch, Slowtouch, and Poisontouch.

Final Fantasy X-2

There are no true Touch abilities in this game, as anything named Touch is basically a Strike ability.

Certain skills require you to touch your target. Touch range is the size of two testing circle radii on the Isle of the Nameless. If you try to activate a touch skill while too far away, you will automatically run into range before the skill is initiated. Like all other skills or effects, height differences do not matter.

Touch skills do not count as attacks.
"Can't Touch This!" can cause them to fail.
The Ranger's primary attribute, Expertise, reduces the energy cost of all touch skills.
