Top Hat is a 1935 musical comedy with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The most successful picture for Astaire and Rogers, the film follows an American dancer (played by Astaire) who travels to London to star in a show. While there he attempts to woo the beautiful Dale (Rogers), who rejects his advances through a series of screwball adventures of mistaken identity.

Many songs of the film have become classics and have been performed by the Muppets, including "Cheek to Cheek" and "Top Hat, White Tie and Tails".

A player wearing a Top Hat, with 'wealthy gentleman' outfit.

Top hats are obtained as rewards from level 3 Treasure Trails. As they were added fairly recently, they are not as common as other Treasure Trail rewards.

This item is commonly worn with a set of Black elegant, an Amulet of fury, Pirate boots, and a black cane, which will make the wearer look like a wealthy gentleman from an old time period.

Trivia

  • The examine info, "Comes with a free rabbit!", is a reference to a magic trick done by an illusionist in which he/she pulls a rabbit out of a top hat.
  • After its release, this item had an amazing spike in price. During its initial induction to the game, its price was set to around 500,000 to 600,000 coins on the Grand Exchange. As demand for the item grew rapidly, with very few hats in supply, prices grew upwards to an excess of 4,000,000 coins. On 11 May, the hat dropped to its lowest, around 76.4k. Recently, it has begun to rise once more.
  • Instead of wearing the top hat with the brim resting on the character's ears, it is worn on the very top of the player's head.
