Tin ore is an ore used to create the metal alloy bronze. Tin ore, along with copper ore, is the first ore a player can mine through the Mining skill, and the rocks it is mined from are found at various mines. One of the best mines is the East Varrock Mine, as it is near a bank and the Grand Exchange.
Mining a tin rock grants 17.5 Mining experience for each ore mined. A player can smelt tin ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a copper ore, granting 6.25 Smithing experience.
Now that Copper Ore and Tin Ore are about the same price, you could still make a decent profit by smelting them into a Bronze Bar, gaining Smithing Experience.
For new players, tin is ideal for money-making in the mining skill, because it sells for more than copper in the Grand Exchange and requires level 1 mining to mine.

Tin was a metal that could be melted into a liquid form. Tin did not rust.[1] Ahsoka Tano called Battle Droids "tin-plated".[2] Han Solo compared its taste to blood after the Millennium Falcon crash-landed on Kessel.[3] C-3PO called R2-D2 a pile of tin, and Lando Calrissian subsequently called C-3PO "tin man".[4]
