A space-time vessel, timeship, time ship or temporal ship (or, colloquially, time machine) is a vehicle designed to convey the user(s) through time and through space.

Where as a "time machine" moves the user through time and a spaceship moves the user through space, a space-time vessel combines these abilities to enable the user to visit anywhere in the universe and at any time.

Often these vehicles had dimensionally transcendental properties and utilized the Time Vortex, the TARDISes of the Time Lords being a great example of this. The Daleks copied these properties and integrated them into their DARDISes. Some time machines probably don't use these properties and use a form of space-time travel that is instantaneous. Some methods are not even vehicles, such as the vortex manipulator or the time ring - a future Time Lord time travel device.
