Tim Burton is an American film director, screenwriter and set designer, notable for the quirky and often dark, gothic atmosphere pervading his high-profile films. The protagonists are usually misfits or outsiders, physically or emotionally different or scarred.
Tim Burton directed the 1989 Batman feature film effectively re-inventing the franchise. He returned in 1992 to direct the film's sequel Batman Returns. Although this was the last film of the franchise directed by Burton, he did return for 1995's Batman Forever in the role of producer.

Tim Burton (b. 1958) is a Hollywood director who has helmed such films as Pee-wee's Big Adventure, the 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton and its sequel, 1999's Sleepy Hollow and the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes.
In 1979, he performed in the finale shot of The Muppet Movie, serving as one of many dozens of puppeteers.[1]
