Behind the scenes

  • The title of this episode may be a reference to Jadis the White Witch, who is the chief villain of C.S. Lewis' novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
  • This episode was adapted into the children's storybook entitled The White Witch: A Droid Adventure.
  • In this episode, Thall Joben uses a green lightsaber, as he explains to his droid C-3PO that he once did some work for someone who owned a speeder, but they left the speeder with him and never reclaimed it; the lightsaber was one of the things left in the speeder by the person. It is unknown if this customer of Thall's was actually a Jedi or was simply someone who killed a Jedi or a Sith and took the lightsaber from them (as Qui-Gon Jinn revealed the possibility of in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace). Most likely, it was the latter, as most Jedi and Sith do not simply forget their lightsabers, although the Jedi may have been leaving his lightsaber to escape the Jedi Purge.
  • This episode was released on VHS twice; in the US, it was released in 1990 by J2 Communications as part of their "The Star Wars Trilogy Animated Collection", where it was featured on the Volume 1 "Special Double-Length Edition" cassette along with "Escape Into Terror". The second VHS release was in the UK. However, it has yet to receive an official DVD release anywhere.
