General Obi-Wan "The Negotiator" Kenobi
"The Negotiator" was a name that was given to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars due to his diplomatic skills. During the war, Obi-Wan gained a reputation for stopping battles without lifting a single weapon, in contrast to Anakin Skywalker, who earned the moniker "the Hero With No Fear". Mainly, Obi-Wan would negotiate with the Separatist commander, have a small drink, while the enemy would demand his surrender; Obi-Wan would ask that if he surrender, that he would be given proper assurances, such as his troops being provisioned. Sensationalist Holonet news broadcasts turned Kenobi and Skywalker into the poster boys for the Republic war effort. It is most possibly because of this that his flagship is called the Negotiator.

Behind the scenes

The title may be a reference to the beginning of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, in which Obi-Wan and his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, are sent as ambassadors to the Trade Federation, although the meeting goes awry when the Nute Gunray attempts to have the two killed, causing Obi-Wan to later make a joke during their escape: "You were right, Master - the 'negotiations' were short."
