"
The Links' Traitor" (also known as
Star Trek: The Links' Traitor) was the first long-form episode in the first season of
Star Trek: Phoenix-X. It took place after Episode 11 and before Episode 12. The long-form episodes were categorized as "chapters".
Summary
Captain Daniel confronts his past when he is met with a Female Changeling, and a fleet of Jem'Hadar warships. When both the Phoenix-X and the Enterprise-E attempt to escape the threat, they are almost immediately destroyed-- that is, until observers Q and Wesley intervene.
Memorable quotes
- "I'm Q, and you just killed Picard."
"Why are you blaming me?"
"Because you could've prevented all this."
"No I couldn't have. How?"
"Easy, by never leaving your homeworld!!""
- — Q and Daniel
- "It took me all these years, my child, to finally understand that your path is not the same as ours. There's nothing I can do now, the Link has proclaimed me a traitor for sticking with you."
- — the Female Changeling
Background information
- The Female changeling in this story may or may not be the same Female changeling seen on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. If in fact she was, then Q's attempt to correct the universe included returning her to her people.
- It is apparent that the crew of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) are privy to knowledge about the Transwarp drive aboard the Phoenix-X, an otherwise classified engine.
- At the time of the episode's writing it was the longest episode in Star Trek: Phoenix-X.
