The Frog Prince soundtrack was first released in 1971, as a companion piece to the syndicated TV special, The Frog Prince. The album features songs and dialogue from the special, along with extra narration by Kermit the Frog.

The original release from 1971 featured a gatefold sleeve. The album was re-released in 1976, with a different cover, and without the gatefold sleeve.
