Other information

The Temple Security Force was a division of the Jedi Order; the Jedi Temple's security guard of non-Force-sensitive soldiers in addition to the Jedi's own security. They were in operation from at least the time of the Great Galactic War. They held quarters within the Temple Precinct where they could access the maintenance hallways of the Temple.

They were associated with the Temple Caretakers. The Temple Vanguard was a specialized division, and the security officers worked closely with the Jedi brutes and Jedi snipers. Two officers were posted regularly within the Jedi Communication Center where they monitored the security cams. The Jedi snipers and brutes worked with this group.

Temple Security defended the Temple in 3,681 BBY

During the Sacking of Coruscant, the Temple Security Forces attempted to help the Jedi defend the Temple from an assault of Sith Marauders led by an unidentified Sith Lord, though they seemed to be no match for Force-sensitive opponents.

When Order 66 was issued, the security force remained loyal to the Jedi, and would try to defend the jedi temple against the 501st Legion during Operation: Knightfall until their numbers almost completely diminished. Those that escaped with their lives joined the underground group known as Whiplash.

Years later, after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the Security Force was reestablished. After the Invasion of the New Jedi Temple, the officers fled to the Jedi Outpost on Endor to aid in the protection of the younglings there.

In 43 ABY the security of the Temple was still largely in use. During the incident at the Temple caused by Jysella Horn's Force Psychosis, Security was called to the Jedi Archives and the main entrance to capture her. However, using a form of flow-walking, Horn escaped.

Behind the scenes

In Star Wars: Battlefront II, in the Naboo mission NabooImperial Diplomacyof Rise of the Empire, the Naboo Soldiers closely resembled the temple security, if not exactly. The differences are that the Naboo use green bolts instead of red, and don't use rocket launchers. In the first Battlefront Game, the Naboo Troopers looked like the movies, even though this could be because that was Episode 1 apparel, and by the time of the Empire, there could've been a uniform change.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Temple Security Force were initially suggested to being members of the Republic Special Forces, but this has proven to be false. While the Republic Special Forces weren't established until after the Treaty of Coruscant, the Temple Security Force were shown to exist (at the Sacking of Coruscant) before the treaty was ever signed.
