Tel Aviv was a casualty of the Third World War, when it was destroyed by a nuclear device in the 2050s. (TOS TLE novel The Sundered).

Tel Aviv is the second most populous city in Israel, after Jerusalem, with a population of 384,600. The city is located on Israel's Mediterranean coastline over an area covering 51.8 square kilometers, and is the main city of the largest and most populous metropolitan area in Israel, the Gush Dan (Dan Bloc), whose population numbers 3.15 million as of 2007. Tel Aviv is recognized as a strong candidate global city, and has been named the most expensive Middle Eastern city to live in.

In the Fallout world before the Great War, the country of Israel was probably still a place where Arab-Israeli tensions often boiled over into conflict as in the real world, since in December 2053 a nuclear bomb deployed by terrorists destroyed the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

The weapon Desert Eagle .44 is of Israeli origins, having been developed by the Israeli Defense Forces.
