Talus was one of the Twin Worlds located in the Corellian system that orbited Centerpoint Station, the other being Tralus, its sister planet. It was one of the five habitable planets in the system, and was a temperate world very similar to Corellia. It had a wide range of climates and terrain, including forests, grass plains and mud flats.

History

Talus was roughly the same size as its sister planet, Tralus. Both orbited a common center of gravity and were together known as the Double Worlds. Talus held many mysteries for explorers. It was rumored that a planetary repulsor was located deep beneath the planetary surface. This device may have been used millennia before the Battle of Yavin to move Talus from an unknown orbit and into its current orbit.

The planet was mostly inhabited by three sentient species: Humans, the Drall and the Selonians. Although the three species mostly lived peacefully, there was a history of political conflict amongst them, usually marked by sporadic violence. Talus was also home to farmers and miners, including a noteworthy Zabrak colony.

Originally Talus was ruled by a monarch, usually a Queen. This tradition ended, however, with the reformation period. There were nobles still on Talus as late as 10 ABY, some even claiming to be heirs to the throne.

Around 500 BBY, the Federation of the Double Worlds was founded, which became the government of Talus and Tralus. The capital of the Federation was Dearic on Talus. Corellia, Selonia, and Drall allied in an attempted takeover of the Federation, which failed. The Federation was allowed a certain degree of autonomy under Imperial rule.

Like Corellia, Talus remained largely neutral in the early days of the Galactic Civil War. The Galactic Empire monitored Talus for Rebel activity, but allowed Fed-Dub to operate independently and didn't interfere with the planets major corporations. Although Talus wasn't as well known as Corellia, it had a vibrant economy that revolved around starship manufacturing.

During the First Corellian Insurrection, the Tralus and Talus Liberation Party advocated independence for both worlds. It was later blockaded during the Second Galactic Civil War.

SWG Wiki

From SWG Wiki

Talus, a former starting planet, is a peaceful planet with low population that makes an excellent training ground for new players. Talus' MOBs slope gently from newbie to advanced levels, with a surprisingly low number of aggressive and deathblowing creatures. The NPC cities of Dearic and Nashal are home to nearly every profession trainer in the game, from Carbineer to Musician to Squad Leader to Ranger.

Rebel Alliance players can find a Rebel recruiter and several Rebel Mission Terminals in Dearic. Nashal is home to a Rebel Coordinator and an Imperial Mission Terminal. Imperials can find a much greater welcoming at the Talus Imperial Outpost, host to a squadron of Stormtroopers, AT-STs, an Imperial recruiter, and several Imperial quest NPCs.

Erran Sif and her fugitive brothers make their home on Talus, and represent a fair challenge to mid- and high-level characters. Also the anarchistic Aa'kuans, the Binayre Pirates and some ancestors of the aqualish warriors from the Aqualish-Corellian War centuries ago can be found on Talus.

Talus is also home to the mighty Tortur, one of the most visually-impressive creatures in Star Wars Galaxies.

Star Wars Lore

One of five habitable planets in the Corellian system, Talus is a temperate world very similar to Corellia. It has a wide range of terrain, including forests, grass plains, and mud flats. The planet is inhabited by three sentient species: humans; the stocky, fur covered Drall; and the sleek Selonians. Although all three species generally co-exist peacefully, they do have a history of political conflict that has been marked by sporadic violence.

Talus is roughly the same size as its sister planet, Tralus. Both orbit a common center of gravity, and are together known as the Double Worlds. Both Talus and Tralus are governed by the elected Federation of the Double Worlds, or Fed-Dub.

Like Corellia, Talus has remained largely neutral in the early days of the Galactic Civil War. The Empire monitors Talus for Rebel activity, but allows Fed-Dub to operate independantly and has yet to interfere with any of the planet's major corporations. Although Talus is less renowned than Corellia, the planet does have a vibrant economy that revolves around starship manufacturing.

Talus still holds many mysteries for explorers. In fact, it is rumored that a planetaty repulsor is located deep beneath the world's surface. The device may have been used eons before the Battle of Yavin, presumably to move Talus from an unknown location and into its current orbit.
