Item details
Cost: 500 Gold

A Superior Identification Kit has the same functionality as a standard Identification Kit: It allows you to identify unidentified items to learn their properties and unlock their features. Double click on it to use, then single click on any unidentified magical item to apply it.

The difference between the superior and standard kits is that the superior one has 4 times as many uses, reducing the need to return to a merchant to restock.

It is sold at all Merchants only in the following regions:

It can be obtained from the following Quest item collectors:

There is a clear trade-off for the increased number of uses, compared to the standard Identification Kit: For the 500 Gold cost of one superior kit, you could buy five standard kits which will provide 125 uses instead of merely 100. Alternatively, four Standard Identification kits provide the same 100 uses for only 400 Gold. The gold cost per Identification is 5 Gold with a superior kit, but only 4 Gold with a standard kit.

Bottom line: The superior kit is less price efficient than the standard one if paid in gold. Superior identification kits are a better deal if they are traded at quartermasters or smugglers.
