Stroman was a Starfleet officer serving aboard the USS Stargazer in 2355. Upon the Stargazer's destruction, Stroman was among those whose families Captain Picard dreaded facing. (TNG - The Lost Era novel: The Buried Age)

Stroman's name indicates the officer was possibly human. The character is referenced in Reunion as well, suggesting a bridge officer or department head. Stroman probably came aboard sometime after 2333, as there are no references to the character in the Star Trek: Stargazer series.
