Stockholm is a city located on the European continent of Earth, and was the capital city of the nation-state of Sweden.

The Peace Institute was based in Stockholm in the 21st century. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

In the late 23rd century, the Central Bureau of Penology was housed in the city, and was the clearinghouse for research performed at several Federation penal colonies, including the Tantalus colony. (TOS episode: "Dagger of the Mind")

Prior to 2267, a researcher at a laboratory located in the city accidentally ingested a large quantity of cordrazine. The researcher immediately began to suspect that he was under attack and barricaded himself in the laboratory. When colleagues were finally able to break into the lab, they discovered that the researcher had planted a chemically explosive trap which resulted in seven deaths, and a further twenty-three people were injured. (TOS novel: Crucible: The Fire and the Rose).

Federation starships named USS Stockholm are named for this city.

Stockholm is the sentry guard of Megaton, born in 2252. He is watching the surrounding area for enemies from a catwalk around the Megaton gates. Should you or any one else come under attack, if it's in range, Stockholm will fire at it with his Hunting Rifle.

Notes

  • After a successful hack attempt of Colin Moriarty's computer, it is revealed he holds a tab at Moriarty's Saloon of 8 caps.
  • If a fight somehow erupts in Megaton (most likely by your hand), Stockholm will sometimes come down from the catwalk and join in the fight.
  • A special encounter in Broken Steel, where some Megaton residents attack a water caravan, can actually result in Stockholm's death, as he tries to back up the thieves. Although his efforts may be noble, he and his Hunting Rifle don't stand a chance against the caravan's heavily-armed Brotherhood of Steel escorts unless the player intervenes.
  • Like many Megaton residents, Stockholm can fall from his perch. Should he survive, his dialogue remains unchanged, even though he is now encountered on the ground.
  • He seems to have low health; one shot with most weapons will (literally) send him flying.

Accessing Stockholm's platform

Normally, the player will never gain access to Stockholm's platform. However, through console commands on the PC version, exploitation of the VATS melee attack teleportation, or through some clever jumping, you may find yourself up there.

If you manage to speak with Stockholm, his only dialogue is, "The more time I spend talking to you, the less I spend watching for raiders. How the hell did you get up here, anyway?"

Appearances

Stockholm appears only in Fallout 3
