History
Steve Lombard is a DC Comics character who has existed in both Pre and Post-Crisis continuity. In
Pre-Crisis continuity, Steve was a former NFL athelete turned sportscaster for the
Galaxy Broadcasting System and often worked alongside famed news anchors,
Clark Kent and
Lana Lang. A happy-go-lucky individual, Steve often referred to Clark Kent by the unflattering nickname "Clarkie", and took great pleasure in taking advantage of Clark's presumed clumsiness. Occasionally, Clark would avenge himself against Steve's pranks with a well-placed blast of heat-vision. The character of Steve Lombard was re-envisioned for the modern
Post-Crisis environment, where he works for the
Daily Planet rather than Galaxy Communications. Steve has made infrequent appearances in modern continuity.
Powers and Abilities
Weaknesses
Steve suffered a sports injury during his professional football days and developed a permanent knee injury.
Notes
- This version of Steven Lombard (Earth-One), including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the Multiverse in the 1985-86 Crisis on Infinite Earths limited series and is now considered apocryphal.
