Squirrels, while never reaching the iconic status of the penguins or even the rabbits, have appeared in several Muppet productions. The squirrel in the Swedish Chef sketch on episode 401 of The Muppet Show was performed by Steve Whitmire.

The squirrels had a memorable scene in the 1977 television special Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas in which they perform an acrobatic act for the talent show. For the 2008 stage musical update, their roles are expanded in a number of short scenes that take place during set changes. Most of the time, they speak in "squirrel" but prove able to communicate with Jane and even perform a song with her, "Trust." Later, during the talent show, their act is helmed by Madame Squirrel, a human-sized, costumed character who leads the performance. The four hand puppet squirrels were named Skippy, Junior, Jiffy and Nutella.

Notes

  • If you have been to Little Lamplight you will notice that both he and Sammy refer to you as a "mungo" similar to other Lamplight residents.
  • Squirrel seems to be very well educated. Eulogy seems to be aware of this and charges 500 more caps than he charges for Sammy and Penny.
  • Humourously, if you pickpocket him, he has Crispy Squirrel bits in his inventory.

There is more information available on this subject at Squirrel on the English-language Wikipedia.

Squirrels are a small mammalian species native to Earth on several continents.. Squirrels are herbivorous-eaters having a basic diet of nuts, small plants and some seeds. They also live in trees in order to hide from predators and to raise young. They also have been noted to live on Reach until its destruction by the Covenant.

The young Spartan-IIs survived several days on squirrels during one of their war game sessions with Tango Company, where they had to capture a flag. [1]

Janissary James, musing about food in which milk that came from an unspecified source is used, suggested that the milk could come from squirrels.[2]

Squirrels are NPCs that can be found in northern Asgarnia, around Ice Mountain, the Goblin Village, and west of the Barbarian Village.

Squirrels cannot be attacked in any way, but like raccoons, these creatures can be caught and kept as a pet using the summoning skill. However, before Summoning, they served no purpose other than to add realism to the game.

With level 29 Hunter and level 60 Summoning a Baby squirrel can be obtained using a Net trap and nuts for bait, gaining 152 Hunter experience. Baby squirrels have to eat nuts in order to grow into an adults.

PLANET
Squirrel
Star system: New Canada
Class: D

Squirrel is the smaller moon of the planet Serenity in the New Canada system. It is probably a rogue asteroid that was captured by Serenity's gravity billions of years ago when the system was still forming. Its surface is heavily cratered and extremely rugged. Trace elements in its composition tint the dust that covers the surface light blue. There are no settlements or permanent bases.
