- The character of Spirit is not to be confused with The Spirit - a creation of the late writer/artist, Will Eisner.
- Spirit existed on Earth-AD of Pre-Crisis continuity. As Earth-AD ceased to exist with the collapse of the Multiverse, Spirit's existence is considered apocryphal by modern standards.

- "Spirit" is also the title of a fourth season episode of Smallville.
