Poison Ivy captures Cyrus Gold and plans on killing him for his affront to nature. She uses her special toxic lipstick on him, but it doesn't work. Gold transforms into Solomon Grundy and begins attacking her. Ivy's powers are useless against him, and Grundy easily defeats her.
Grundy trudges off, determined to confront his longtime foe, Green Lantern. While stomping through Gotham City, Grundy sees a comet of green fire, which he believes to be the Lantern. He tracks it to Alan Scott's house and barges through the wall, terrorizing his wife, Molly.
