Slammer was the nickname of a Clone trooper pilot who served in Blue Squadron as Blue Three during the Battle of Ryloth.

Slammer: "I can't help you, Axe. I've got my own problem."

After Techno Union Foreman Wat Tambor seized control of the planet Ryloth and its inhabitants, the Jedi Council dispatched General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Commander Ahsoka Tano, to destroy the Separatist blockade surrounding the planet, under the command of Captain Mar Tuuk.

Ahsoka led a squadron, for the first time, taking command of Blue Squadron under the callsign Blue Leader. Slammer joined fellow pilots Axe, Kickback, Tucker and Swoop in his V-19 Torrent starfighter in fighting the advancing Vulture droids, and his squadron was able to cut a clear path to the lead ship. However, after Separatists reinforcements arrived out of hyperspace, Ahsoka disobeyed a direct order from both Admiral Yularen and Anakin to return and defend the Resolute. Tucker was shot down by a Vulture droid. Ahsoka finally complied, but by the time she returned to the Resolute, eight of her original ten clone pilots had died.

Behind the scenes

It is unclear whether Slammer was one of the clones who died in the Battle of Ryloth though the first pilot of Blue Squadron to die onscreen is most likely Slammer as the armor is identical. The episode guide for "Storm Over Ryloth" states that eight out of the ten clone pilots of Blue Squadron died, but only specifically identifies Axe and Tucker as being two of the eight.
