Gill Randsborg, known as Jill deLauncebeaux in the Japanese version, is a competitor in the Fortune Cup. In the English version, he works for Yliaster

A large, fearsome man, Randsborg is decked out in the armor of a medieval knight. (The reason for this differs from the original version to the dub. In the original version, his knightly heritage is supposedly real. In the dub, he is just a cosplay duelist.) He speaks in Elizabethian English, which is much more prevailent in the dub version (where it is an act). A customized Duel Disk serves as his shield. He faces Akiza Izinski, the Black Rose Witch in the first round. He claims to be a blood descendant of a family of medieval knights. His personality is self-righteous, and he sees it as his duty to defeat the Black Rose Witch.

During the Duel itself, Randsborg quickly falls victim to Akiza's powers to make the Duel real, and collapses after receiving a powerful attack from Akiza's "Black Rose Dragon".When he is hit with the attack it is reaveled he just used a fake accent. He is confirmed to have survived, however, as he is one of the people offered a "consolation match" later on.

Deck

Randsborg uses a Masked Knight Deck. The Masked Knights are Leveled Monsters who can inflict burn damage to the user's opponent by forfeiting their attack. The higher the Level of the Masked Knight, the more Burn damage it does. The highest level Masked Knight, Masked Knight LV7, can both do burn damage and attack in the same turn.
