Notable features Archaeologist

Simon Templeton is an unscrupulous archaeologist (treasure hunter) located in between the landslide and stairs up to the Agility Pyramid. The Pyramid is in the Kharidian desert, south of Nardah, and north of Sophanem. He may be related to the ancient warrior priest Derygull Templeton.

The quickest way to reach Simon Templeton is to use the Jaleustrophos teleport of the Pharaoh's sceptre (Jaleustrophos is the ancient name of the Agility Pyramid).

Always interested in valuable items, Simon will buy the gold pyramid retrieved by players who have completed the agility course in the Agility Pyramid for 1000 coins, as well as any items obtained during the Pyramid Plunder minigame in Sophanem.

The following table shows the price Simon pays for Pyramid Plunder rewards.

Type Ivory Pottery Stone Gold
Comb 50 × × ×
Seal × × 150 750
Scarab × 75 175 1000
Statuette × 100 200 1250
Pyramid top × × × 1000

Notes

Simon Templeton initially will not accept any artefacts if they are in noted form. After completing the Dealing with Scabaras quest, players can gain the ability to sell Simon noted artefacts, except for those made of gold. To unlock this ability, first speak to Simon about the job he mentioned during the quest. Then go speak to Pyramid Plunder's Guardian mummy as Simon has requested you, talking about artefact's. The mummy will refuse to participate in Simon's scheme. Finally, return to Simon, talk to him about the job again, and he will now accept noted items from Pyramid Plunder.

Trivia

The name Templeton may be a reference to E.B. White's famous children's story Charlotte's Web. In that book, Templeton the Rat is the name of a pack rat.

Alternatively, the name may be a play on Simon Templar, The Saint, from the numerous books, TV shows, and movies on this character.

Another possibility is that his surname is a play on the word "Temple," due to him being found near a pyramid.
