Simon was a female human in Starfleet in the 24th century.

She was born circa 2330, and graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2352. While at the Academy, she was captain of wrestling team; one of her teammates was Cadet Benjamin Sisko.

Simon served as a lieutenant on the USS Bonaventure, where she first met Ensign Joseph Shabalala. She later rose to the rank of Captain and was given command of the USS Fearless, and at that time tapped Shabalala as her executive officer.

During a mission to planet Patnira, Simon (along with a number of her crew) were grotesquely mutated by a Patniran weapon. She begged Shabalala to kill her, and he obliged her. (novel: The Brave and the Bold)

Simon, otherwise known as Simon the Killer Ewok, was a male Ewok from the Forest Moon of Endor. One of the first of his kind to be seen in the wider galaxy, he was first seen off of his native world approximately three thousand years prior to the fall of the Galactic Republic. Reported sightings of him engaging in battle ranged from the War of the Gungan Tribes in 3,032 BBY up to the era of the early New Republic. As a mercenary, he was willing to work for any faction that called upon him during these conflicts, causing as much damage to his employers' enemies as he could.

Biography

Born on the Forest Moon of Endor some time prior to 3,032 BBY to a family who were members of a local tribe of Ewoks, Simon was trained to be an extraordinary warrior. He was able to withstand massive amounts of damage inflicted by enemies without significant injury, while at the same time utilizing a powerful blaster that was affixed to his staff that could destroy nearly anything that it was fired at. Determined to seek his fortune as a freelance mercenary, Simon lent his skills and abilities in warfare to anyone who knew how to summon him. Among those who employed his services were the Gungans, the Royal House of Naboo, the Trade Federation, the Galactic Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance, as well as the Wookiees of Kashyyyk and the New Republic.

Despite the fact he was over three thousand years old at the time of his most recent sighting, the Ewok was still every bit the warrior he had been upon first emerging into the wider galaxy. Some reports, for instance those filed by Wedge Antilles during his and Leia Organa's adventures with the Jedi Master Echuu Shen-Jon, indicated that more than one "Simon" was seen within the same locations, sometimes even in the same battles.

Behind the scenes

"Simon the Killer Ewok is about as canon as the hyperkinetic rabbity thing, Max."
―Leland Chee

Like the Bongo Marauder, Simon the Killer Ewok was only available through using a cheat code in the video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds or its expansion, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns. He took the form of a nearly-invincible and extremely powerful unit that was similar to the 'cobra' car from Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings, from whose engine the game was derived. He may not be an official canon character, and was possibly inserted to serve as a testbed for various game functions, much like its counterpart from Age of Empires. When asked about it, Leland Chee compared Simon to Max, the lagomorph from Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.[1]

Simon can be conjured up by the player no matter which campaign they are playing, simply by pressing enter to open the chat and entering the code "simonsays". For this reason, Simon's place in the timeline or his affiliation can not be discussed; this article assumes that Simon is a longeval Ewok that could exist as far back as the War of the Gungan Tribes (Gungan Campaign) until the Liberation of Coruscant (New Republic Campaign) and possibly served as a mercenary, working along with any side who "employed" him.
