Silver was a material that had long been valued as a precious metal, used to make jewellery, high-value tableware, and currency coins.

Prior to United Federation of Planets contact, gold and silver had no meaning on Capella IV. Starfleet trade ships introduced these materials as currency prior to 2267. (TOS novelization: Friday's Child)

Official description
Silver is bright, pure and much coveted by discerning jewelers. Contrary to the myth spread round by the unscrupulous Miners' Association, it has no particular effect on vampires. Unless they're miserly vampires... Or artistic vampires... Do vampires make jewelry? It doesn't... say... here... Anyway, if it's a really nasty vampire who's only out for blood, who has a good job... damn. Do vampires work... Look, just sell the bloody thing or something.

Silver is an ore.

Silver is one of the citizens of Megaton. She is hiding out in the only habitable house in Springvale, a ghost town just outside Megaton.

Contents

Background

Silver was born in 2255[1]. She is an ex-Prostitute and a junkie who is trying to forget her past with the help of chemicals.

Relationships

She has some unresolved issues with Moriarty, the saloon owner.

Interactions with the player character

Moriarty will ask you to kill her, starting the 300 Pieces of Silver quest, in return for information about your dad. You have the choice to either kill her, get a varying amount of caps from Silver to pay her debt, or tell him she is gone without getting paid by her.

  • Upon her death she will have 100 bottle caps if you offered to tell Moriarty she is gone with no reward, or 400 bottle caps otherwise.

Notes

  • Silver cannot be Mezzed.
  • Silver's voice appears to have been recorded by two different actors.
  • If you destroy Megaton before talking to her, then kill her, she will have 400 caps on her corpse.
  • If you kill Moriarty you can not tell her as no speech options of that topic appear after you kill him.

Bugs

  • Do not agree to tell Moriarty she is gone before talking to Moriarty, or he may spawn into an inaccessible area; see his own article for tips on fixing the problem on the PC version (console players cannot fix the problem).

Appearances

Silver appears in Fallout 3.
