In lightsaber combat, shun was a 360-degree turn performed with just a one-handed grip, thus gaining speed for an attack.

Shun, like jung ma, might be a further development of the Falling Leaf technique known by the Jedi Knights of the Army of Light around 1000 BBY.

John, known as Shun in the Japanese version, is a boy living under Martha's care.[1]

While dining with the Signers, he enjoys Trudge's stew. The meal is interrupted by the appearance of the Dark Signer, Roman Goodwin.[1]

Yusei orders Jack to take the children to safety while he duels Roman. However John, along with Taka and Mitch stay back to se if they can get revenge on the Dark Signers for what they did to Crow.[1]

John and Mitch get seperated from Taka and get close to Yusei's Duel.[1] However Roman Summons his Earthbound Immortal, nearly sacrificing John and Mitch in the process. However Jack appears and forms a protection bubble saving them.[2]
