About shrimp

A freshwater shrimp

Shrimp are small, krill-like animals that roam earth's seas. Shrimp usually average in size between 1/2 inch to 3 inches long. They have tiny legs and are pink in color. They can live in both freshwater and salt water. They are a big source of food to whales and large fish, as well as humans.

Shrimp can be used in many recipes. It is often served with other seafood, but it can also be used as the main part of a meal. Examples include fried shrimp, Shrimp Soup, and Shrimp Cocktail Shriner.

(Redirected to Shrimps article)

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This article is about cooked shrimps. For the raw version, see Raw shrimps.

Shrimps (plural of Shrimp) are a food item, that can be obtained by cooking Raw shrimps at level 1 Cooking, and are useful for increasing both Cooking and Fishing levels when players start out. They will also heal 3 hitpoints. Using raw shrimps on a fire or range will give cooked shrimps, which can then be consumed. Inexperienced players will burn a lot of shrimps at first, but as cooking level increases, the odds of burning decreases. Players will stop accidentally burning shrimps at level 33 Cooking.

Trivia

  • When Tutorial Island was accessible, the first shrimp cooked was always burnt.
  • Shrimps and Anchovies look exactly alike, except for their colour. (On Earth, shrimps are crustaceans and anchovies are fish with little resemblance to one another.)
