Shockwave Pulsar is the ultimate Blue Magic spell for Quistis in Final Fantasy VIII. The spell shows orbs lifting all enemies into a cloud covered area of the sky then a giant explosion happens to deal critical damage that exceeds the 9,999 limit. One of the final bosses, Griever, uses this ability as his greatest move at his defeat.
It can be learned from the Dark Matter item. This item can be acquired by using the command Tool-RF on 100 Curse Spikes. However, Siren must be at Level 100. It can also be obtained through the PocketStation game Chocobo World.
Shockwave Pulsar starts with a magic power of 150 at Crisis Level 1, and 250 at Level 4. The formula, therefore, for Shockwave Pulsar to do maximum damage is as follows:
If the opponent's Spirit is at 0 and Shockwave Pulsar is at its maximum magic power, it can potentially inflict up to 32,000 damage.
This attack also appears in Dissidia Final Fantasy as an HP attack for Ultimecia.
