"The disaffected worlds of the Outer Rim have in no way swayed Eriadu and Seswenna's loyalty to the Republic. We stand by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Should it even come to war, we will take up arms if Seswenna's worlds become the front line. We are proof that not all worlds in the Outer Rim have a lawless disregard for the heart of the Republic."
―Shayla Paige-Tarkin

Shayla Paige-Tarkin became a senator of Seswenna Sector at some point following the death of Ranulph Tarkin, during the Stark Hyperspace War (44 BBY), and held the position until at least the Clone Wars.

Prior to the Battle of Geonosis, when Sluis Sector seceded, Paige-Tarkin was quick to assert Seswenna's loyalty to the Republic. In her statements, she made clear her contempt for the lawlessness of other Outer Rim worlds which had joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

An adamant Loyalist during the Clone Wars, she was a loyal follower of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Totally unaware of his alter ego as Darth Sidious, she considered him a savior of the Republic and a role model, but worried about his health. She was delighted when he called upon her, along with Jannie Ha'nook and others, to support him during the conflict on Praesitlyn.

At some point during the Clone Wars, a Trandoshan bounty hunter attempted to kidnap Senator Paige-Tarkin on Coruscant. The bounty hunter was captured by Commander Fox, however, and Paige-Tarkin remained safe.
