From Dofus

Scythes are a kind of weapon. There are very few Scythes, no magus or even crafters for them, and no Mastery spell either. As of such they are pretty much never used, other than by farmers for harvesting.

General

The Scythe is a two-handed weapon. It is the preferred weapon of the Dervish, one of the two professions introduced in Guild Wars Nightfall. The Scythe's efficiency is affected by the Scythe Mastery attribute.

The major boon of using a scythe is that scythes are capable of striking multiple targets at the same time. This effect is not the result of a skill, but rather an inherent property of the weapon. It can hit up to 3 targets with an attack. Consider this as a valuable aspect of battle. For example you can use vampiric or zealous upgrades on your scythe to have a possible added affect. Since the scythe strikes multiple times per attack you receive multiple benefits. The scythe's maximum damage rating of 41 is also the highest of all weapons; however the minimum damage of 9 is one of the lowest, giving it a very variable damage range.

Notes

  • On the down side, should you hit multiple targets enchanted with skills that return damage, such as Retribution, you will receive damage from all targets that were hit. Each hit also triggers hit-based hexes such as Insidious Parasite separately.

Damage stats

  • Slashing damage
  • Minimum damage: 4-6
  • Maximum damage: 9-41
  • Critical Hit: 70 if customized and at max damage.
  • Attack Interval = 1.75 seconds
  • Each attack strikes primary target and up to 2 additional targets within adjacent range.

Scythes with an attribute requirement of 0 have been observed with damage as high as 8-17.

Scythes, like Axes, can also have a higher minimum damage of 10 as long as the maximum damage is lower than 41.

Upgrades and modifiers

A scythe can be equipped with a magic Scythe Snathe (name prefix) and/or Scythe Grip (name suffix) to add extra bonuses to the weapon. Scythes have been confirmed to possess every prefix martial weapon except for Silencing, and every suffix except <species>slaying. Vampiric scythes can have up to 5 life stealing like hammers and bows.

Furthermore, inscribable scythes can have any Weapon, Martial Weapon or Equippable Item Inscription applied to them. Scythes obtained from Collectors and Weaponsmiths can have a number of non-salvageable weapon modifiers on them.

See "weapon upgrades" and "weapon modifier" for details.

Inscriptions

Inscriptions that can be applied to weapons can be applied to any scythe with an inscription slot.

Scythe range

Scythe range

Per scythe attack, the scythe may hit the original target, and two additional targets. These two additional targets must be adjacent to target, represented by the smallest area of effect circle given at the Isle of the Nameless. Note that this is the same range that the skills Hundred Blades and Distracting Blow use, not the regular "Adjacent to self" range Cyclone Axe affects.

Attack Skills

Currently, Soldier's Strike and Magehunter Strike only hit the target foe when used with a scythe and Whirlwind Attack hits all targets within range once. All other "Melee Attack" and "Scythe Attack" skills use the area of effect of the scythe. If the attack skill has an effect upon hit (e.g. Desperation Blow), the effect is calculated separately for each struck target unless otherwise noted.

Runescape

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Scythe is a holiday item from the 2003 Hallowe'en event. They were dropped on 31 October 2003 and 2 November 2003. The second drop happened because many players in North America were not online when Jagex dropped the scythes, causing them to miss out and write to Customer Support.

Scythes were the last holiday items to be dropped in RuneScape Classic, and the last piece of content that was added to RuneScape Classic before RuneScape 2 was released.

When they were dropped, only one could be obtained. If a player attempted to pick up another scythe, their message box would show the message: "You already have a scythe, you don't need another one."

Scythes are wieldable as a two-handed weapon. Scythes have the ability to crush, stab, and slash - all three of the melee attack styles. If the scythe is lost, it can be retrieved from Thessalia's Fine Clothes in Varrock or Diango in Draynor Village.

In RuneScape Classic, it was also possible to take them to Entrana, this made the Lost City quest noticeably easier; however, this is no longer possible. Also, in RuneScape Classic, there is an occasional animation of the scythe "drawing blood" from the opponent, showing a small splashed red dot in addition to the regular damage message. This animation has no effects on the actual damage, however.

The Holiday Event in which scythes were dropped is the result of a poll ran shortly before the event. The poll asked players whether they would rather have no Holiday drop for Hallowe'en and have a pancake day in two months, or delay RuneScape 2 a day or two as a result of the production of a Halloween drop. As it can be seen, more people ultimately supported the inclusion of a holiday drop.

The 'drawing blood' effect.
78% of poll respondents wanted a Hallowe'en event.

It also led to the discovery of the party hat duplication glitch.

Trivia

It was possible to get more than one scythe when RS2 Beta was released. By transferring the scythe to RS2, then recovering it, players were able to generate more than one scythe.

They're actually both looking for characterization.
Let's see what you can see...

This article is in need of images.

Scythe is a Mini-Con from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.
"You wants me to take care of them, Boss?"

His teammates may also have weapon modes, but Scythe is the undisputed muscle of Anti-Blaze's team, capable of even taking on some full-sized bulks on his own. A born fighter and natural battlefield commander, Scythe has always backed Anti-Blaze and protected him, no matter the odds. Now with the threat of the Sky Terror Mini-Con Team and other rebels threatening to turn the Mini-Cons into the slaves of the Decepticons once again, Scythe is ready to wade in to the thickest, most dangerous situations and bust a few heads!

  • Ramjet vs. Scythe (Mini-Con 2-pack, 2006)
Scythe is a redeco of the Armada Emergency Mini-Con Team member Makeshift, transforming into both a twin-rotor helicopter similar to an Osprey and a double-gatling cannon. He was available only in a two-pack with the Sky Terror Mini-Con Team member Ramjet.
He uses the same mold as Impulsor and Rotor, while a slightly-retooled version of the mold is used by Bulge.
